Spiking my hair advice never done it before whats the best to get proper spikes?

Hi,


I fancy a change so I want to spike my hair, now I have never done this before and so i am unsure what to do in order to get proper spikes and a cool look. I have some gel and I have had a go by getting some on my fingers and just rubbing it in my hair. Now the only problem is that they are not real spikes they stick up a little bit and sink a bit, so how do i make decent firm spikes? Also what is the best way to get the hair spiked, do them individually? or just rub fingers through until i get the look i want?.


Also what is the easy way to get spikes all over not just on the top but on the back and sides as well.


One final query I have even though I got a little bit on fingers my hair still gets lots on my head and if i apply any more my hair will look like shampoo.





I hope someone will be able to help me and give me some advice on getting the right look, methods will also be very helpful.


by the way my hair is medium length not to long and not to short

Okay I'll try my best but i dont know exactly what you want...





1. Spikes: Put lots of mega hold gel in your hair and ';twist'; spikes in every spot you want them.





2. Not rlly SPIKES but your hair stands up and its messy: Gell your hair, then Use a brush and comb all your hair back. Then use your fingers to mess it up a bit.

hi there i have spikey hair and the way i do it is first i pull straightners through my hair so its super straight i then apply a wax all over and just twist and tease it works every time and lasts all day try that hope this helps

Try wax instead of gel. It is easier to mould the spikes. You can achieve this by teasing the hair into place. You can twist the strands together to help them to stick together and stick up. You'll find lots of great wax products in Boots or Superdrug and they tell you on the tub or tube what look they help you to get. Alternatively, go to the hairdresser for a cut and ask them to style it spikey afterwards. Watch what they do and use and copy it at home. Good luck, sure you'll look fab!
Its all about the product - try a wax or a putty 2 direct and mold the hair - also have ur hair cut in2 4 depth .
