What are your experiences with having wisdom teeth taken out? I get all 4 out tomorrow? Any advice?

Don't let people scare you !! Before your apt take Advil. If you are really nervous ask for nitrous oxide or be put to sleep.


They will give you instructions after have someone there with you to help you remember them because they are VERY IMPORTANT . Its alot of pressure should be not pain . After will be sore, and tender No soda, No straws, No hot or over cold foods. Soft foods pasta, yogurts, mashed potatoes, No seeds or rice. If you have extreme pain 2 days later you have what is called a dry socket call your dentist ASAP !!! Best of luck..What are your experiences with having wisdom teeth taken out? The first 72 hours are the worst, IF you are going to have any problems, it will be in the first 3 days. Expect some swelling and possibly bruising afterward. Follow the ';after instructions'; very carefully to avoid getting dry socket. Have some soft foods on hand for the first day or two after and DO NOT drink through a straw after your surgery. I had 1 wisdom tooth extracted last week. I bled a lot, and it is a total pain to keep the gum cavity clean. It's like a food magnet and pieces of food get stuck in there all the time. I rinse with salt water and that helps, but I'll be glad when this heals and I can get on with it. It's another way to lose weight because I just don't want to eat anything because it's painful still after a week. I see the Dr. tomorrow and I hope all is OK.
