The best way would be to visualize what your greatest desires are if money wasn't an object, where would you live, what would you drive, where would you travel, what would you do. Then put together a financial plan on level system. You need to start out with how much you need to meet your basic necessities like housing, food etc. Next make sure you have some money for ';what if'; problems like you car stops working, your roof collapses. Then look at what you want to do to really live your dreams. The last two phases of this would be ';do you want to leave something to your kids'; legacy type things and do you want to give anything back to your community. I would happy to help you directly with both the visualization and to make sure you have enough to live the life you want. Email me jpistorius380@sbcglobal.netHow can I get help with retiring? I don't mean financial advice, I mean creating a retirement lifestyle.?
Well the first thing you need to do is decide if you will stay in your current location when you retire or do you plan to move. If you are staying in your present location then think of any hobbies you have and get set up to do something with those on a daily basis. Think about possibly volunteering at your local senior center or other agecny as a driver for people who can't drive taking them to and from appointments. Check into taking some classes at your local tech college that are offered for seniors/retired people in subjects you have always wanted to learn about. If you have always wanted to travel places get some trips lined up for the next couple of years or consider an RV if that is of interest to you. What you make of your retirement years is up to you. One thing you should not do is just sit around and do nothing. How can I get help with retiring? I don't mean financial advice, I mean creating a retirement lifestyle.?
What I would give to be able to retire! I'd golf, travel, pursue my hobbies (nature, reading, theater, antiquing, decorating) and all sorts of things! Join some groups - not necessarily ';senior'; groups, but interest groups. Do you like photography? Biking? There's a group for everything. Join a few and stay active. Mentor a child, be a Big Brother. Think about things you always wanted to do and didn't have time for. Now you will. ENJOY.
