I'm getting a tooth pulled out tomorrow, has anyone got any advice for me on how to prepare for it?

It's a bottom molar.I'm getting a tooth pulled out tomorrow, has anyone got any advice for me on how to prepare for it?
Lowers seem to be much easier to remove than uppers. Of course, many dentist agree to disagree on that one.

-Depending on the structure of the tooth/roots, you may be given a nerve block of just local anesthetic. Your dentist will use an elevator instrument to loosen the tooth, instruments will be used to remove the tooth, you will be cleaned up and 2x gauze put in place to help with the bleeding.

-If it turns out to be a surgical extraction, everything that I listed above will be done, plus sectioning of the roots for removal.

Remember - no smoking, drinking out of a straw, rinsing or drinking carbonated beverages within the first 24 hours after the extraction. Your healing clot needs to form in the socket and all the things that I have listed can remove the clot, resulting in a dry socket.

Good luck!I'm getting a tooth pulled out tomorrow, has anyone got any advice for me on how to prepare for it?
it won't hurt that bad i had to get 4 teeth pulled out at one appointment!

just take some pain relievers and you will be fine i didn't take any. just relax whe nthe dentist pulls it out
Just got two bottom teeth pulled about 20 minutes ago.... perfectly fine.... the anesthesia is annoying tho... dont sweat it...it'll be over before you know it.
Take some ibuprofen, tylenol whatever you desire a few hours before you go. The worst part is the numbing shot..and it's just a little pinch. It's not bad at all! It will take most of the day for the numbing to wear off too and you have to keep cotton sponges on the spot until it stops bleeding I would go buy some extra sterile ones at the store. Just keep up on your pain medication!
Remember to have ice in the fridge because an ice bag is usually recommended for intermittent use to prevent swelling after the extraction. Also remember to ask the dentist for a strong painkiller (even though some of them just say ';take an aspirin';). Keep in mind that the numbness you get from the lidocaine or whatever they will be using) will keep it from hurting during the extraction. It is the afterward that can be a problem.
just relax and imagine how much better it will be once it's out!
The sooner you get it done the sooner you get it over with.

Good Luck!!!!! Follow the dentist instruction afterwards.
Don't stress about it.

It doesn't hurt and it'll feel fine within the week. I had a tooth taken out last year, it was a little sore (like kind of achy) for a day or so, and a little irritating trying to eat without chewing on it, but other than that it was fine.
i got 2 teeth pulled at the same time and it starts to get achy and a little painfull after the numbing wears down. drinking cold water and eating soft foods help too.
