I'd love to share my summer with kids and make their summer a little more special, but I have almost no experience working with children. Do you have any advice about getting this kind of job, what qualifications you need, and what sleep away camps are looking for in their counselors?Any advice about getting a job in a sleepaway camp?
I have worked at a few camps, the basic qualifications are usualy a year in college, good people skills, wanting to work with kids. A lot of times camps are so in need that they don't require experience working with kids, cause they will train you, and as long as you are interested thats all the need.
Most sleep away camps are jsut looking for some one who is reliable, fun and safe, someone they can trust pretty much.
Its a great experience, that you will always remember.
