I did get some answers like this: You should get saved too.
Here's what I'm thinking, and correct me if I'm wrong, I'm thinking drunks have just as much faith in their glorious situation as ';saved'; people have in theirs, the main difference being that drunks can sober up.
.If I dislike drunks in public, the best advice is to get drunk too?
If you're trying to compare Christianity (which means believing in a God who tells us to give to the poor, feed the hungry, house the homeless, etc, etc) - if you're comparing these good deeds with getting drunk (DUIs, DWIs, killing people while behind the wheel of a car because of alcohol, girls getting pregnant while under the influence of alcohol, etc, etc) - if you're comparing these two life styles, and you're attempting to say that being drunk is better, you're one pathetic person!
You really need to think through what you're asking before you put your foot in your mouth. Have you never heard the saying, ';It's better to be thought of as a fool, then to open one's mouth and remove all doubts'; ?
Furthermore, did you REALLY want an answer to your question? Or weren't you just mocking things you OBVIOUSLY know absolutely NOTHING about?
Why not ask an intelligent question to learn something - you may just fool ALL of us into actually thinking there IS a spark of intelligence there!
(By the way, I used to work at a Biblically based drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, and you can take my word, these poor souls are NOT in a ';glorious situation'; - many of them don't know where they are, they don't know how they got there, girls don't know how they got pregnant, or who the father is, we had one YOUNG girl (late teens or early 20's) dying of sclerosis of the liver! THAT is what you're talking about, and trying to compare Christianity to! She died in a hospital all alone with no friends or family! I said it before, and I'll say it again - you're pathetic!)
Oh, and you're wrong about something - must drunks do NOT sober up! We (my wife and I) took into our home a girl and her younger brother, whose mother lost her parental rights because of alcoholism (the father was nowhere to be found!) - now isn't THAT just a ';glorious situation!'; She was angry at the judge, she was angry at social services, and once she turned 18, she went straight back to live with her mom, and I don't doubt that she's getting drunk now, also. In the process, she also abandoned her baby (yes - she got pregnant while she was still in high school, and she'd been before the judge for underage alcohol consumption! Now please, in all your wildest dreams, tell me how that is so wonderfully glorious? And please explain to me how you can even compare this to Christianity? (For the 3rd time, I'll say it again: You're pathetic!) (And if you think I'm angry, yes - I am! I've seen what alcohol does to people!)If I dislike drunks in public, the best advice is to get drunk too?
And ';saved'; can lose their faith. So it's a better metaphor than you think, but I'm going to disagree just a little bit.
If you don't like drunks, don't hang out near bars. If you don't like evangelicals, avoid them to. It's not hard, you can start by not reading the posts on R%26amp;S.
I dislike anyone who claims to be saved myself, come on down to the big bbq in hell.
Anyway do you ever notice when your sober and you see other people completely pissed, that your glad your not in that state?
The same could be said about the';saved';
Dunno but I'd rather be drunk in public than get ';saved.'; Saved from what? The wrath of your all-loving God? Isn't that an oxymoron?
If you can't beat em' Join em'! And trust me you will never beat a drunk!
IDK but I'd rather get drunk that get ';saved';....
Juicy says- If you don't like evangelicals, avoid them to. It's not hard,
Tyrs says- Juicy must be a Christian!
One can be saved as well as drunk... take me for instance. lol
I would say just get over it. You got to have thick skin in this world
