Advice on getting eyeglasses for the best vision?

I am very near-sighted and when looking through my current glasses, it's not always clear. It seems I have to look exactly through the middle of the lenses and have them up to my face. My frames are pretty small, but is this normal? I'd like to be able to see clearly through more of the lens. BTW, yes the prescription is correct.

Are there differences in where I get them made, the quality of the lens, the frame size, or what?Advice on getting eyeglasses for the best vision?
this is normal for high prescriptions , try contacts you will love themAdvice on getting eyeglasses for the best vision?
Yes, there can be differences from one optical dispenser to another. Bargain-priced lenses can turn out to be a problem, but they will usually re-do them, especially if you take them to your optometrist to get them verified as out-to-lunch. If it isn't a problem with the grinding, you may be ready for bifocals!
hmm

i would say to call an eye doctor and get an oppointment

they will help you with your needs

glasses that you get from any store most likely wont fit your prescription

and eye doctors will make sure that the glasses do
If you have a high prescription then there will be distortions away from the centre in all lenses. Poorly made lenses, badly fitted frames and large frames will be worse. An aspheric design lens will have a little better.

But if you really want to see clearly to the sides without moving your head, then you will need to get contact lenses.
