A good attitude. Helps both in life and flying. Seriously though, if you think positively, it will be much easier on you and you will be through it in no time at all.I leave for my RAF basic training in four weeks any advice that will help me get through it all?
During training you are assesed on your attitude as well as on your performance.


Give 100% effort in everything you are asked to do, this shows the training staff that you are serious and will be noted.





All the other things are common sense, get as fit as you can before you go, keep your mouth shut and ears open ( you have one mouth and 2 ears so you can listen twice as much as you speak...etc)


At times you will just want to give up and go home, everyone will, but keep going, and at the end of it you will have achieved something to be very proud of (the only way you could be prouder is to join the Army - but I'm Biased!)





Last piece of advice, Buy the best Iron you can afford, steam is your friend. You'll understand why at the end of week 1

when the Drill instructor is Yelling at you he does not hate you it is his job to try and intimidate you





do not be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand





and if the Cpl says you are an idiot agree with him





I did 2 lots of recruit Training one IN the RAF and one in the Royal Australian Air Force i was a gun plumber /cracker stacker and i do remember a Cpl saying you are an idiot Airman what are you I am an Idiot Cpl





I retired after 38 years as a Warrant Officer Explosives Ordnance Engineer so i was not such an idiot should have applied for a commission before i was 42 Bigger Pension





But had the best boots in the RAAF my best friend joined the Royal Marine Commandos and finished up as a senior instructor SAS/SBS and one of His Cpls polished my best RAF boots to Commando standards which i wore to my RAAF pass out Parade





advice Polite Yes Cpl Yes Sgt Yes Sir is half the battle and a Good Quality salute to officer





yes i Know they want you to fly Like an Eagle but it is difficult at times when you work with a bunch of turkeys

Ask for clarification on words or phrases that you do not fully understand. For example, your boss says, ';I want you to be statistically thorough with this report.'; Your reply, ';Do you mean that I should gather numbers from ALL our competitors, or just those in Kentucky?';





and LISTEN listen listen in social situations, and talk less that they do. I promise you they will consider you a brilliant conversationalist if you only speak briefly.

I have seen them advertised where they are made to plug into your computer. Cyber Guys and Extreme Geek (same company group) carries this. They are on line. Also the way I did it was from turntable through my stereo to tape, then into computer. If it is a newer turntable, you would need a per-amp for the magnetic cartridge.

Two weeks to get a guy, any advice?

There is this guy I work with, and he doesn't work while he's in school just at christmas and during the summer. Well we just started flirting, he initiated it and after flirting back and warming up to him, I realized he's someone I may be interested in. Only catch is that school is back in session in two weeks, and we have no connections outside of work. How do I establish an outside of work relationship with him, without coming on too strong??Two weeks to get a guy, any advice?
The way I did it with a co-worker-turned-outside-of-work-friend, was to ask him to do things with a group of people (co-workers), which doesn't put too much pressure on either of you. You could use his leaving as an excuse for such an event. After, tell him you'll miss him and ask to keep in contact. That wouldn't be weird, considering you had an even for HIM.

I have an ovarian cyst and want to get pregnant,advice plz?!

while pregnant with my son dec 06, they discovered i had a dermoid cyst on my right ovary, it was about 1cm by 2cm at first, when i had my son they did a scan to check the cyst and it was 4cm by 4cm, they decided to leave it an do another scan next year (jan 09), but now me an my husband are trying for another baby again next month should i tell the doctor i want it removing first or will it not affect my pregnancy?I have an ovarian cyst and want to get pregnant,advice plz?!
I also discovered I had a cyst on my ovary. I still conceived tho and carried a healthy baby, who is now one year old. I think its up to you, but if it doesn't affect you and doesn't cause you any pain then there isn't any need for it to be removed at the moment.I have an ovarian cyst and want to get pregnant,advice plz?!
It shouldn't affect your TTC efforts. If anything it may hinder eggs being released from that side, but that's why you have two ovaries. As long as your Doctor is not concerned about it, I wouldn't worry about it.





I have had several cysts on my ovaries and I've got 3 healthy children. Usually what happens for me is that they eventually shrink back down and are no longer a problem.





If you are still concerned, call your Doctor or his Nurse and share your concerns with them. They would be better to advise you on what you should do, and ease your worries too.

I have been TTC for a year with a cyst, and I have been unsuccessful. It is stopping me from ovulation, and throwing my periods all out of wack. If you continue to have normal periods, then you are ovulating and it should not be a problem. If your periods go out of control like mine have, then I would consider getting it removed. I am having mine drained in a few weeks so I can start ovulating again b/c my body is not absorbing this thing. Good luck to you!
Well you would have to go to ur doctor to get checked again, because TTC and ovarian cysts dont mix at all....ovarian cysts prevent ovulation all together or just delays it until the cyst is gone, so if u still have the cyst its not a good way to start ttc, trust me it will be the most stressful thing u can go thru, from experience. Please get checked first and ask what ur options may be..then u can start planning and things like that. Good luck hun
i'v had many many cyst. i had one removed but one came back very soon after and i got pregnant right away and had not problems with my pregnanacy it actually make them go away until after he was born. i guess everyone is different but i would talk to your doctor about it just to see what they say. good luck!!!

Anybody got advice or remedies for insomnia?

I've dealt with the problem of long periods of sleeplessness for most of my life, and have tried many different things/lifestyle changes to cope with it. I have insomnia also, its horrible. Just lying there not sleeping. Some things that help are exersice (not too close to bedtime) and i use valerian root. You can buy supplements at walmart. I take it about 1-2 hrs before bed time and it relaxes me. You need to keep yourself ';busy'; with quiet activities, watching tv or reading a book may help. The more i can take my mind off sleeping the more likely i'll sleep. In the past i tried sleeping pills, xanax and they did not work for me, cuz they are not long term solutions, only work temporarily and trying to get off them can be difficult. I'd try more natural stuff first if i was you, like valerian or camomile tea, melatonin works for some people. Good Luck!Anybody got advice or remedies for insomnia?
maybe listening to slow music...i listen to frankie j and i fall asleep especiallly with story of my life by frankie j....dont drink or eat anything sugary before you go to bed cuz that scares away sleep to!
What worked for me was going to doctor after doctor and not stopping until I got 1) a diagnosis (Grave's disease) and 2) some help. It took me 6 doctors.
